Sleepy HollowSkylark begins the season with a brand new storytelling concert featuring acclaimed storyteller Sarah Walker. Abridged by Artistic Director, Matthew Guard, the beloved ghost story comes alive with spooky whispers, bloodcurdling screeches, bawdy drinking songs, and classic American tunes.

Sarah Walker, StorytellerGRAMMY®-nominated storyteller Sarah Walker is the daughter of two traditional Appalachian storytellers, who instilled in her a love of hearing and telling great tales. She has performed extensively in her home state of West Virginia and throughout New England. She performs regularly with Skylark and is the narrator on the group’s highly-acclaimed album Once Upon a Time. Sarah holds degrees in Medieval Studies and Art History from Vassar College and received her Master of Library Science from the Pratt Institute. Other collaborations include Three Notch’d Road Baroque Ensemble, Alkemie, and Chapter House.

Thomas Barth, CelloPraised for his “superb phrasing” and “human-like singing” (Boston Musical Intelligencer), cellist Thomas Barth enjoys a varied career as a chamber and orchestral musician on both modern and period instruments. He performs frequently with groups including the Handel and Haydn Society, Glissando Concert Series, Boston Festival Orchestra, A Far Cry, Boston Baroque, The Isabella Ensemble, ChamberQUEER, Pinwheel, and Skylark. As a member of the Juventas New Music Ensemble, he is committed to performing the works of living composers for audiences around the world in an accessible fashion and is a frequent contributor for PARMA Recordings. In 2022, he served as the cellist for the critically acclaimed Broadway revival of 1776 and has played for numerous shows at the American Repertory Theater.
