Clare BrusselClare Brussel is an active performer across the country, both as a soloist and choral singer. Her first international choir tour came at 16, and since then she has sung in such storied venues as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, the Sistine Chapel, the White House, and the United Nations Headquarters, among many others.
She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Tennessee and her Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College. In between those she nurtured a love of bel canto and the Italian language while studying at the Centro Studi Italiani in Urbania, Italy. Praised for her “confident, clarion clear” singing (Fanfare Archive), Clare can be heard performing with ensembles such as GRAMMY-nominated Skylark Vocal Ensemble, Ensemble Altera, Kinnara, Aeternum, GRAMMY-nominated Artefact Ensemble, Sound of Ages, Schola Cantorum of Boston, and more. Her recent and upcoming concert work includes Haydn’s Missa Brevis in F, Mozart’s Missa Brevis in D, Bach Cantatas 51 & 61, Brahms Ein deutsches Requiem, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, and Mozart’s C Minor Mass. Operatic roles have included Queen of the Night in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, Morgana in Handel’s Alcina, and Zerlina and Donn’Anna in Mozart’s Don Giovanni. She was also awarded 2nd place in the National NATS Vocal Competition. When she’s not performing, Clare can be found reading epic fantasy novels, eating copious amounts of pasta, and enjoying the outdoors with her husband and two dogs. |
